Gaza Rated 15

Dir. Garry Keane, Andrew McConnell. Ireland/Palestine, 2019. 1h 32m. Arabic/subs.

Rarely seen other than in news reports depicting eruptions of violence between Israel and Hamas, the Gaza strip is home to nearly two million citizens. This arresting documentary provides a portrait of everyday Gazan people leading meaningful lives beyond the rubble of perennial conflict.

Followed by a Q&A with Sir Terence English and Hassan Alhallaq, organised by the Bristol Palestine Film Festival. Professor Terence English is an eminent surgeon who has worked in Gaza over the past 10 years. Hassan Alhallaq was born in Gaza and is now a PhD student at Oxford Brookes University.
