Posted: Sun 1 Jan
Between Sunday 12 February and Monday 13 March, the Ultimate Picture Palace will screen a special season of classic films chosen by Oxford Brookes Film Studies staff and students.
The season begins on Sunday 13 and Monday 14 February with Albert Lewin’s technicolour romance starring James Mason and Ava Gardner, Pandora and the Flying Dutchman. The season’s second film (19 & 20 February) will be the 1964 Palme d’Or winning musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg.
This is followed by Nicolas Roeg’s disturbing thriller Don’t Look Know (26 & 27 February) and a re-issue of one of the greatest gangster movies of all-time - Martin Scorsese’s swaggering crime epic Goodfellas (5 & 6 March). The season culminates with a 35mm screening of the 1935 film Captain Blood starring Errol Flynn (12 & 13 March).
